    Customer Service Representative – Chicago,Illinois Warehouse

    Elk Grove

    Shift:  Monday-Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

    Reports to:  Branch Manager

    Job Description:

    Provide professional customer service by fielding calls, answering questions both by phone and in person, as well as order entries. This position has a high percentage of public interaction and thus, requires a polite and professional attitude.



    • Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding products and services
    • Input orders upon receipt of customer purchase orders
    • Insure that information regarding customer requests and/or complaints is provided accurately and efficiently
    • Work with shipping department to insure on time deliveries
    • Schedule and participate in product inspections when required by a customer
    • Maintain understanding of compliance, export packing, NAFTA and U.S. State Department requirements
    • Assist in planning, formulating and developing customer services policies and procedures
    • Meets weekly with manufacturing and technical services to confirm production and delivery schedules
    • Review returns by the customer for evaluation by quality control and communicate the results to the customer
    • Offer technical assistance to customers
    • Acts as a liaison between the customer and the engineering department
    • Coordinating and scheduling of field rework campaigns as needed
    • Responsible for on time preparation of various weekly , quarterly, and annual (internal) reports
    • Other duties as required



    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver great customer service externally and internally with customers from diverse worldwide background
    • Ability to gain comprehensive knowledge of Amerex products and services to advise and assist customers
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
    • Quick and accurate typing and computer skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word or similar programs
    • Multi-tasking skills with an ability to meet established deadlines
    • Good conflict training and a willingness to attend any relevant customer service training
    • High school diploma or general education degree from an accredited institution
    • Three to five years or more of relevant experience in a customer service role
    • Experience using the EPICOR business system a major plus.
    • Ability to maintain a calm demeanor when dealing with potentially upset customers
    • Fluent in Spanish a plus
