Overview

Under the direction of the Manufacturing Technologies Manager, this position will be responsible for assisting in process improvements, equipment design, and project management associated with the various manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

Assist in the evaluation of manufacturing processes including product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials and develop and implement improvements.

Studying product requirements, inspecting equipment, processes, operations, assembly, testing manufacturing methods utilized.

Develop maintenance procedures for repair services by following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures, requesting special service.

Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information to justify machine improvements, process changes and/or capital investments.

Create and maintain drawings in bot CAD and Inventor formats.

Provide manufacturing engineering information.

Comply with all applicable government regulations.

Undertake other duties as may be assigned.

       

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Applied Engineering.

Candidate needs to be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.

Strong mechanical aptitudes a plus.

Strong verbal and technical writing skills with the ability to communicate to broad audiences.

Knowledge of quality tools and continuous improvement methodologies a plus. (FMEA, Root Cause, 5S, Six Sigma, and Process Flow Analysis).

Proficient in Microsoft Office to include, Outlook, Excel, and Word, Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D modeling software.

 

SUMMARY OF WORKING CONDITIONS

This position may involve potential exposure to hazardous materials, and environmental changes (heat/cold), and the employee must be able to work under stress occasioned by production requirements, personnel, and the needs of other departments, utilizing proper body mechanics.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force to frequently lift, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time; however, it may involve walking and standing for brief periods of time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
