Responsibilities

The Maintenance Supervisor/Engineer will direct the maintenance team in day-to-day activities, and plan for upcoming maintenance during scheduled downtime to reduce breakdowns. They will also ensure the PM system is utilized and updated for all pieces of equipment.  Ensuring compliance with all safety & environmental policies/procedures.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Plan, implement and control the short-term and long-term work schedules for the Maintenance Department coordinating between the Plant Engineers, Production Managers, Production Supervisors, and other Support Departments.
  • Coordinate and be responsible for dispatching Technicians to Work-Orders of all types and including plant startup.
  • Review and analyze breakdowns with key personnel to determine additional Preventive Maintenance, different controls, etc. to improve efficiency.
  • Define and implement all Preventive Maintenance procedures for all pieces of equipment new and existing.
  • Be responsible for and approve all parts ordered for immediate work orders and breakdowns.
  • Control the following personnel functions: regulate hours and overtime for your employees, coordinate with dispatch, train, evaluate, discipline and encourage, settle disputes, ensure everyone follows all safety rules.
  • Interface with Manufacturing Engineering to plan, schedule and implement Manufacturing Engineering projects to be complete in a timely manner.
  • Keep all maintenance areas clean and orderly. Including: Department work areas, Maintenance Shop, Compressor Room, Forklift Rack and the Bin Reserve. Develop the 5S program.
  • Coordinate and control outside contractors work when required…ensure safe conduct by contractors.
  • Perform functions required to support production.
  • Conduct quarterly department meetings, weekly toolbox talks and safety audits.
  • Assist in the design and approval of new equipment and upgrades of existing equipment.
  • Ensure Production operations by determining work priorities and scheduling repairs, maintenance, and installation of machine, tools and equipment.
  • Maintain Maintenance Department safety, professional, and technical training.
  • Assist maintenance team in troubleshooting equipment failures and determining the root cause.
  • Passing down shift information between shifts.
  • Maintain the CMMS system, making sure to drive on-time completion of work orders.

 

Qualifications

Who You Are:

  • At least eighteen (18) years of age and eligible to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to pass a post offer drug test, background check, and fitness review.
  • Demonstrate high attention to detail and self-motivation skills.
  • Willing to train, work, and rotate through all department work stations and work in other departments as needed.
  • Capable of working in a hot, non-climate-controlled environment with heavy lifting (respirator and dusk mask required).
  • Controls experience using Allen Bradley RSLogix 5,500 & Studio 5000.
  • Robotic experience using Fanuc robots.
  • Engineering degree in mechanical or electrical preferred.

 

SUMMARY OF WORKING CONDITIONS

 

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those and employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position may involve potential exposure to hazardous materials, and environmental changes (heat/cold), and the employee must be able to work under stress occasioned by production requirements, personnel, and the needs of other departments, utilizing proper body mechanics. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Respirator and dusk mask are required to perform this role.

                                                                                                                                              

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 lbs.
  • Capable of standing/walking and performing light physical labor uninterrupted for periods of up to three (3) hour intervals.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, push, and reach during the shift.
  • Frequently stand, walk, climb ladders, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to work on manlift/boomlift at height for extended time periods.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance.
